Senior CE&I Engineer - Safety Systems / Engineered Protection Systems £51-55ph | Inside IR35 Hybrid - 3 Days Warrington Office / 2 Days Remote We're seeking a Senior CE&I Engineer to join the MSSS SEP Machines project at Hinton House, Warrington - supporting the delivery of complex, safety-critical systems for one of the UK's leading nuclear programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and substantiation of engineered protection systems, contributing directly to the SEP1 Design Justification Report. You'll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team tackling some of the most technically challenging CE&I problems in the sector. The Role Deliver work packages across a broad CE&I scope on all three SEP Machines. Produce and/or check safety system deliverables supporting nuclear safety cases. Develop and review functional safety design substantiation for systems up to SIL1, in line with IEC 61508. Provide fit-for-purpose design solutions, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and quality targets. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, integrators, and project teams across disciplines. Essential Experience Nuclear experience is essential - Sellafield project experience highly desirable. Preferred CEng/IEng status (or equivalent). Proven background in Functional Safety and Safety Case substantiation. Working knowledge of CDM, PUWER, BS13849/62061, BS7671, and UKCA/CE requirements. Skilled in checking engineering drawings and applying relevant standards. Desirable Experienced in design risk assessments, method statements, and O&M documentation. Familiar with PLC/SCADA systems and industrial network architecture. Strong problem-solving ability with an evidence- and risk-based engineering mindset.
